June's Cruise-in & Burnout Recap
Despite the mid-afternoon rain, we had a tremendous turnout for the June Oakboro Cruise-in & Burnout. Well, we didn't exactly have the burnout because of safety concerns. See, we celebrate the Fourth of July for 10 days. Our town becomes one big festival - and we didn't have the space we normally have for the burnout. But, it will return in July.

Join us on Friday, June 27 as we kick off the 50th Annual 4th of July celebration in Oakboro. We're planning on lots of cars - and music!
The Buick Owners of the Carolinas and the Charlotte Region Hornet's Nest will bring all kinds of shiny cars. You can see them at the new Oakboro Railroad Museum. We invite you to park nearby. Just follow the sweet sound of Mickie Eller's music!
Rocky Yelton & The Hired Guns, from Forest City, will perform. You may know Rocky from Pigeon Forge and Coyote Joe's in Charlotte.
Be sure to register your cars and participate in the 50/50 drawing. Last month, a man from Charlotte took home $145. The month prior, a couple from Monroe won $250. Oh, the sweet smell of cash!
