You just never know what you'll see when you attend the Oakboro Cruise-In.  We were proud to have representatives from Suzie's Pride, a Sanctuary and Rescue for Big Cats in attendance.  They brought along their goodwill ambassador, Maggie May, giving a whole new meaning to putting a tiger in your tank!

The rescue group hopes you will be able to attend their Big Cat Open House with Special Guest, Lou Santiago from CarFix and former host of Muscle Car TV on September 29th.

Our blog's guest "judge" for the July Cruise-In was Donna from Suzie's Pride Big Cat Rescue.  She picked this 1968 Camaro Z-28 owned by Jerry Stevens of Norwood as her favorite vehicle.

Well, folks, the clouds rolled in, the wind kicked up, and the rains came down...hard!!  We had a couple hours of good weather and lots of cars so I got some good pictures that will be posted throughout the month.  The burnout was not held due to the weather.


Want to give a special thank you to Hornet's Nest Car Club for coming down & to "Pimp Daddy Preacher Man" for letting them use his church fellowship hall to hold their dinner.

Don't go around hungry - plenty of places to get something to eat!  Hamburgers at Tina's, Hot Dogs at Tarheel Dog, Funnel Cakes & Kettle Corn are available at the concession trailers on Third St.  Or to get out of the heat & have a sit down meal, try Los Jacubes, Penny's, Spencer's, or Wayside - all in-town restaurants.

Looks like it'll be a hot one but at least the chance of rain is way down.  Be sure to cool off by a enjoying a homemade ice cream cone from Mike & Deb's in the Suntrust parking lot, an Ice Cold fruity popsicle from the Popsicle Factory across from Suntrust, or an Icee from in front of Quality Day Care!

News Flash!!  The Original "Charlene" and one of the "Darling Boys", along with the Mayberry Tribute artists will be attending the AUGUST 24th Cruise In.  Be sure to mark your calendars!!
